The Rural Medical Education (RMED) Program at the National Center for Rural Health Professions at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford was developed to train and support physicians in rural Illinois and beyond.  RMED students participate in the Rural Health Professions Interprofessional Curriculum which is an add-on curriculum to the traditional medical school curriculum.  The RHP curriculum focuses on developing the interprofessional knowledge, skills and attitudes required of rural health professionals.  RMED students and rural pharmacy students attend RHP classes together.
